Happy Fathers Day!

Just wanted to wish all the dads out there a great day!

I’m also sharing the Fathers Day contest winning entry!

My husband, Steve and I tried right away once we were married to have a child. He was a wonderful husband through 4 years of unexpected infertility issues. Then the infertility took its toll on us as a couple, thankfully we made it through and are very much in love, happy and married for 12 years.

The road back from unsuccessful infertilty treatments left me still hoping for a miracle and for him he wasn’t so sure. Steve thought he was fine without children. We are very fortunate to spend time with our neices and nephews plus we both coach. He has Coached youth football for over 10 years and has made numerous connections/friendships with the township kids. He is the type of Uncle to jump right in for fun, whether it be in the pool, the ocean, on bikes, on a field or on a court. You can see what a great father he would be and it was sad to think we probably wouldn’t have our own.

We had 6 frozen embroyos left in storage for 6years. I decided it was time to use them. Steve was there for me every step of the way, like he always is. The IVF was successful, now the long road of pregnancy. Steve went to most of the appointments and ultrasounds. While I was hospitalized twice and on modified bed rest, he took care of everything from the house to the dogs to the phone calls to worried family and friends. We gave birth to healthy boy – girl twins December 6, 2005. We have been busy every since.

Steve is amazing to watch (hopefully like most fathers) with the kids. From feedings early on – to running around now. The look on his face more than describes all the love in his heart. To watch a man so in love with his children, give everything he can to make their days better is truly as much as a miracle as having the babies. I just wanted him to know how much we love him, for just being him.
