~Giving Is Awesome 2010~

This is my second year participating in the “Giving is Awesome”. Each year 100′s of photographers endeavour to give back through the way they do best by giving the gift of their time and talent to someone who might not be able to afford it. Photographing the winning families in the past touched my heart so much and I’m so grateful that I was able to give them a lifetime of memories. Without further ado, here we go…
You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, fallen on hard times, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.
You know someone. I guarantee it.
I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography – $2200 worth, to be exact. It’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.
Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $200 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?
The rules:
* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must be local and willing to travel to my studio. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : info@emaphotography.com no later then DECEMBER 22, 2010.  Please include a way to contact the nominee and yourself.

*Winning nominee will receive a session and a CD of high resolution images valued at $2200.

*Session must be scheduled by February 2011 and take place between February and April 2011.

*All nominations must be in by December 22nd and reviewed by a panel of my closest colleagues and friends.  The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

My mommy and me sessions are always such a hit and sell out so fast.  I love it that moms (and in some cases below grandmoms!)  see how important it is to have images of themselves with their children.  Too often its the moms that are behind the camera!

Don’t do a whole lot of family sessions and I always think its so important to capture those family images for your children to look back on some day!

Photographing a busy one year old and a 4 year old is always a challange, but capturing that perfect sibling shot is even more so. But it is obvious there is no sibling issues here with these beauties!

Their Momma Patty is yet another of my favorite clients who has been to me multiple times. She has such amazing taste for the finer things, amazing shoes..amazing purses, her kids always have the best outfits etc… yet what means the most to her are those images she captures of them, she loves her portraits of them and always states that is her artwork. I love it when people appreciate what I do, it makes it such a nice relationship! Plus they are a sweet family to boot.

Photographed big sister a few years ago and was so happy to see this family again. I love it when parents realize how important it is to capture second children too. How many of us say “I have so many photos of my first, but not nearly as many as my second..or third etc..” So important to get those done!

This family came down from Staten Island to see me so I could get some shots of their new little baby Emma. Sleepy, Curly and perfect and totally loved by her big brother and sister!
Had to do my signature pose that I’ve been doing with her since Daddy loved his blackberry!

I’m so envious of this Karen to have a shot of her with her kids and her mom and also her grandmother.    I’m sure little S will really appreciate this someday.
