~Giving Is Awesome 2010~

This is my second year participating in the “Giving is Awesome”. Each year 100′s of photographers endeavour to give back through the way they do best by giving the gift of their time and talent to someone who might not be able to afford it. Photographing the winning families in the past touched my heart so much and I’m so grateful that I was able to give them a lifetime of memories. Without further ado, here we go…
You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, fallen on hard times, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.
You know someone. I guarantee it.
I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography – $2200 worth, to be exact. It’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.
Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $200 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?
The rules:
* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must be local and willing to travel to my studio. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : info@emaphotography.com no later then DECEMBER 22, 2010.  Please include a way to contact the nominee and yourself.

*Winning nominee will receive a session and a CD of high resolution images valued at $2200.

*Session must be scheduled by February 2011 and take place between February and April 2011.

*All nominations must be in by December 22nd and reviewed by a panel of my closest colleagues and friends.  The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

I love it when they travel so far and because he was so good I think the travel time was longer then our session.  But I think it was so worth it as I had a hard time choosing between all the great shots for their sneak peek!

I’m always so touched when clients travel so far to come see me.   Lots of New York clients lately and even after his long car ride he still slept so well for us!

This little sweetie decided to come about 6 weeks early,  so even though she came in a bit older then I normally photograph she was perfect!   Actually ended up sleeping better then some 10 day olds I’ve had which made for a great session!

Even at 13 days old we managed to get mostly all sleepy shots of this little guy! And does it get any better then a smile like this?

Ahhh another perfectly sleeping baby but he did manage to give us an amazing eye contact shot!

Always such a huge compliment when they travel so far to capture this most time!

Traveled to Staten Island this weekend for this sweet 8 day old. What a perfect baby. She slept the whole time and didn’t wake up once to eat. She was even still sleeping by time I packed up! Parents were so nice too!

I photographed her big brother as a newborn so it was so nice to see this family again! Mom and Dad are both NJ State Troopers so of course we had to do shots with the trooper hat too!

perfection! that can be the only way to describe it. She did not wake the entire time (except when eating!) and we did the session in a record 1.5 hours. I was happy to get to play with some new props too!
